The organizing
committee is pleased to offer to all the congress participants and
their accompanying people the opportunity to enjoy, during the
Conference days, cultural and social events leading to discover the
wonderful Rome’s artistic heritage.
To match any
wish and interest, two different cultural events have been planned
for each day, both taking place in the morning, if a sufficient
number of participants (minimum 20) will be achieved. Moreover, it
is also possible to complement, upon request and if a sufficient
number of participants is reached, a half day Shopping Tour in Rome City
Centre, in the afternoon.
Please note, guided tours may be subject to cancellation depending on
weather conditions. Only in case of
cancellation by the organisers, the costs of the cultural events will be
completely refunded.
The costs of the cultural events
are not included in the conference registration fee and must be
appropriately selected in the
Registration Form.
The Gala Dinner will be held on Wednesday,
December 19th, at “La Foresta” Restaurant, Via dei
Laghi, Km 12 - 00040 Rocca di Papa (Roma). The cost of the
Gala Dinner is not included in the
conference registration fee.
The Social Lunch, at the end of the social
excursion, will be held on Friday, December 21st, at
“Da Baffone” Restaurant, Via Dei Laghi, Km 15 - Bivio di Nemi
(Roma). The cost of the Social Lunch is included in the
conference registration fee.
Tuesday, December 18th
Walking Tour in the ancient heart of Rome:
Colosseum, Arch of Constantine, Roman Forum and Palatine,
Campidoglio, Imperial Forums. This journey will lead you to
the discovery of Rome history from its mythical foundation area
through the places in which great events happened (both glorious
and tragic).
Cost per person:
€ 15.
The Museum houses precious sculptures, like
the ancient Etruscan bronze Lupa Capitolina (Capitoline
Wolf) suckling the infant twins Romulus and Remus and the
Equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius, together with wonderful
paintings realized by Caravaggio, Rubens and Carracci.

Wednesday, December 19th
Walking tour through Piazza Navona,
Pantheon, Piazza Colonna, Fontana di Trevi, Piazza di Spagna,
searching for the most beautiful and spectacular places of
the Papal Rome.

A precious collection started with Pope Urban
VIII and housed in the magnificent Barberini Palace, which holds
masterpieces like Fornarina realized by Raffaello,
together with Caravaggio, Tintoretto and Pietro da Cortona’s
greatest works.

Thursday, December 20th
A guided visit in the magnificent Basilica
representing the central symbol of Christian religion and erected
over the grave of St. Peter. The vault, with the altar built
above it, has been since the fourth century the most highly
venerated martyr's shrine in the West.

Walking along the streets of the most popular
and picturesque Rome, from the Jewish little squares to
Trastevere district, where you can get a feeling of the most
genuine atmosphere of the city.

Friday, December 21st
An Half-day guided
tour to Hadrian's Villa
in Tivoli: a wonderful opportunity to visit the largest and
sumptuous imperial Villa built by Hadrian Emperor, and enjoy the
beauty of its
